An SAP FICO Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting the Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules within SAP. The role acts as a bridge between Finance teams and IT, ensuring accurate financial data, optimized processes, and reliable reporting for strategic decision‑making
Key Responsibilities
- Design & configure SAP FICO — Deliver configuration for FI (GL, AP, AR, AA, Bank Accounting) and CO (Cost Centers, Internal Orders, Profit Centers).
- Implement S/4HANA Public Cloud processes — Apply SAP Best Practices, fit‑to‑standard methodology, and cloud‑specific restrictions.
- Lead finance process workshops — Facilitate requirement gathering, process mapping, and solution design across R2R, P2P, O2C, and Treasury.
- Support integrations — Ensure seamless integration with SD, MM, PS, and master data domains, consistent with market expectations.
- Execute testing cycles — Prepare test scripts, support UAT, and manage defect resolution.
- Prepare documentation — Create configuration documents, process flows, and training materials.
- Support cutover & go‑live — Participate in data validation, cutover planning, and hypercare.
- Advise on finance compliance & tax — Configure tax, payment programs, dunning, and country‑specific settings (e.g., EU region).
- Collaborate with project leadership — Support the Project Director in solution planning and cross‑functional alignment.
🧩 Required Skills & Qualifications FI/CO,
- 3–7 years of experience in SAP including at least one S/4HANA Public Cloud project.
- Strong understanding of Record‑to‑Report, Procure‑to‑Pay, Order‑to‑Cash, and Treasury processes, consistent with industry expectations.[^3]
- Hands‑on configuration experience in:
- FI‑GL, FI‑AP, FI‑AR, FI‑AA, Bank Accounting
- CO‑CCA, CO‑PCA, Internal Orders
- Experience with Master Data Management and cross‑module integration.
- Ability to define and document end‑to‑end business processes across functions and geographies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English; French or Dutch is an advantage for Belgium/Luxembourg projects
